Fr. Joe and His Golden Jubilarians Priest Brothers felicitated by His Eminence Oswald Cardinal Gracias
Clergy Day 2018, was celebrated today at St. Pius College, Goregoan Seminary, Mumbai, His Eminence Oswald Cardinal Gracias being the Chief Guest. The celebration was along with Bishops and Priest from the Archdiocese of Bombay.
It was at this celebration that Fr. Joe and his Golden Jubilarian Priest Brothers namely Rt. Rev Bishop Bosco Penha, Fr Vernon Aguiar, Fr. Joe Fernandes and Fr. Lucian Fernandes were felicitated on completing their 50 years of priesthood. It was nostalgic as Bishop and Priests the jubilarians cut a cake alongwith His Eminence Oswald Cardinal Gracias .In his address to the gathering Oswald Cardinal Gracias complemented all the jubilarians for their contribution to the church in India and abroad. He specially acknowledged Fr.Joe for his work in the field of addiction treatment and HIV/AIDS care and also Meditation and Yoga and for taking Kripa globally- A Archdiocese Project.
As one saw the fitness of Fr. Joe they marveled and asked him about his physical well being as he did not look 75 years of age. Fr. Joe humbly said "All Your Love, my yoga, can make me stand on my head, whilst many of my brethren have difficulty even in standing on their feet."

After a all night flight travelling and just two hours rest. Fr.Joe received a request phone call by his students of yoga to practice with them. His zeal and love to spread the true teaching of Guruji B.K.S.Iyengar's Iyengar Yoga and Kripafoundation Iyengar Yoga™ for addiction treatment is so much, that he rushed down to the yoga studio to teach them.Later students shared a light meal of thanksgiving togther. Thanking their Higher Power for the gift of Fr. Joe with them. Fr.Joe now moves on to Penang.

Fr. Joe- Chief Guest at a Cricket Tournament to spread awareness on Drug abuse.- A Build up to Children Day Celebration
Ekta Welfare Association in collaboration with kripa Foundation and Waliv police station organised a cricket tournament with a special session on counselling about drug abuse at Appa ground ,Vasai East were the Chief Guest were Fr. Joe H Pereira and Hon'ble MLA Shri Vilas Tavde.and Addl. SP Shri Raj Tilak Roshan ( who sent hisgreeting ashe had to attend some urgent matters.)
More than 500 students between the age of 12 to 18 from Shanti nagar ,Waliv and Navjeevan visited the stall set up by kripa, where they were made aware of the ill effects of drug abuse .The result of the counseling was one could see students crying for help to get rid of drug habits especially chewing tobacco and Guthka and also for help for their parents. MLA Shri. Vilas Tare , Father Joe H. Pereira and Police Inspector Shri. Sanjay Hazard, Mr.Kamble enjoyed the game of cricket played by the youth and appreciated their talents at cricket.
All the chief Guest gave excellent apt speeches which moved the children all shouting "SAY NO TO DRUGS"as punch lines all the time
Fr. Joe and Hon'ble MLA Shri Vilas Tare gave away the prizes to the winners.
Credit to the success of this tournamentthat was spread over two days goes to Ekta Welfare Association spearheaded by Mehboob Khan, Corporator/ Chairman Ramesh Ghorkana for helping to clean the ground for cricket match. Vasai Police under Addl. SP Shri Raj Tilak Roshan, Krpa Foundation team of Amit Patel, Dr. Amit, Shamit, Ganesh Tarad, Pravin Rathod , family members of Kripa Vasai and Bosco D'Souza.
A well organised program with a meaning and the entire credit goes to Mr. Zakir Mistry who along with Kripa Foundation organised a second successful tournament.
A big applause to Fr. Joe for even though having a occupied schedule took time off to be with the children.. INDEED A PERFECT BUILD UP FOR CHILDREN DAY. In his words" The Joy of caring."
